Hunger

William woke up, somewhat slumberous, and began the day. Nothing so special as noticing the keen coolness of the water coming down from the shower until, during one of those epiphanic moments of life, decided to break routine. No, he didn’t go to work on pajamas or anything like that. I’ll let you decide what to call this “test” of sorts. Take my words lightly, will ya?
Well, how can we put it? He simply gave up nourishing himself that morning, hoping to find out how long would he stand up to the challenge and getting curious about how could it affect his way of being during the rest of the day.
At first, there were no symptoms at all. However, just in case, William wrote some notes on a paper:
“07:30 – I feel normal, almost too normal, in fact. Suppose I am not so dependant after all.
08:30 – Beginning to feel awkward. Still manage to concentrate on most affairs.
09:30 – That awful sensation is growing larger. Managing to focus on simple affairs… yet.
10:30 – Don’t know if I’ll make it ‘till noon. I’ve begun to feel cold sweat some time ago. Don’t know how long this has been happening.
11:47 – Sorry ‘bout the waiting. Gave up an hour ago: had to read the book.”
What about you? How long can you keep your hunger for knowledge at stake?

  1. I do not know if I'm hungry, but I'm sure I'm thirsty. And I want cold, and no sugar, please! xD
